Service Description

Derek Arms Academy offers home defense classes designed to build essential real-world skills, including situational awareness, conflict avoidance, personal protection planning, understanding the legal use of force, improving home security, and practicing firearm and non-lethal self-defense, with the goal of developing a proactive strategy to protect your home and family. Derek Arms Real-World Home Defense is a 6-hour Residential Defense Level I training class focused on real-world home defense skills and structured dry-fire instruction. Upon successful completion, students become eligible to advance to Residential Defense Level II and III courses, which introduce force-on-force training with simunitions and live-fire close-quarters battle (CQB) exercises. The Residential Defense Level I training curriculum includes: Build situational awareness and conflict avoidance skills to recognize threats early and prevent escalation Learn how to effectively secure and defend your home by identifying vulnerabilities and improving safety measures Train to make lawful, defensible use-of-force decisions in accordance with your state’s laws Practice safe movement through rooms and hallways to reduce exposure and maintain control in confined spaces Develop the ability to identify real threats through target discrimination and decision-making drills Gain an overview of defensive gear and tools, including firearm and non-lethal options, safe storage, and continued training opportunities
